ABOUT US

We are the PLTC Multisport Foundation. We evolved organically over the years, drawn together by the sheer magnetism of friendship, camaraderie, and a shared passion for physical activity and personal challenge. We are seven long-term Edmontonians, some of us born and raised in this wonderful city, who see an opportunity to help alleviate hardship and enhance the lives of those separated from the rest of society due to illness or disabilities. We believe that at the core of every beneficial change is a person or a group of individuals driven by compassion, commitment, and a shared vision for a better future. We ask, "If not us, then who?"

Our journey began in 2012 with the news that our friend, Ken Lane, had been diagnosed with cancer. Ken was an avid sailor, cyclist, runner, triathlete, and a devoted husband, father, and friend.   Looking for a way to channel our emotions, we saw an opportunity to support our community by helping to remove obstacles for those facing health and disability challenges. Ken passed away shortly after our first Terwillegar Trail Walk and Run in September 2012.   We miss him still and our mission grows more relevant and important each year as we identify additional needs in our community.

This year's event is taking us in a new direction as we throw our support behind You Can Ride 2, a charitable program of Goodwill Industries of Alberta, providing children with disabilities the opportunity to experience joy and freedom through movement by removing barriers to riding a bike.

Many thanks to those who provided feedback on previous events. With the help of your input, we believe every future Terwillegar Trail Run and Walk will provide an even greater opportunity to challenge yourself and to enjoy the company of friends and family.

Come join us!

Our Team

As longtime runners and cyclists with a deep appreciation for Edmonton’s River Valley park system, we wanted to create an event that brings people together—celebrating family, friends, and the great outdoors—while also giving back to the community. We’re proud to be part of the foundation and its legacy of successfully hosting the Terwillegar Trail Run and Walk.
